attempts to grow berries called straw

So apparently strawberries are the only fruit with seeds on the outside, although I think pineapples and cashews do too… but nonetheless it is quite rare. According to Madsci.org they aren’t actually seeds, but a little more complicated then that, and according to the definition of a “berry” by botanists requires the seeds to be inside.  The strawberry has its dry, yellow “seeds” on the outside (each of which is actually considered a separate fruit). The part that gets me is the name of the fruit… blueberries= berries that are blue, cranberries= petals of the flower resemble the neck of a crane, raspberry= a berry of rasp (derived from genus Rubus of the family Rosaceae(rose)). They are too pretty to be named strawberries, and too good for us! (Stawberry Facts)

So since it’s spring and things are stating to grow all over the place again, its no suprise I stumbled upon lots of containers of strawberries in my fridge… I ate so many..they were soOo good..but latley I’ve been starting wonder about the foods I eat and whether I am I able to possibly plant my own. Before you know it I’m picking out the seeds from the heart shaped love berries (what a better name), which was very tedious since there is about 200 seeds on each of them! Altogether I successfully picked out about 40 seeds from a container of starwberries, I probably could of picked more but for osme reason I just kept on eating them when the seeds became too frusterating. At times I started pondering (and I am still considering) whether planting the strawberry as a whole wold be a much wiser idea. I mean the seeds are on the outside… what more do you want? LoL, then it would be a “berried berry.” InshAllah I will try it out, I’ll have two containers side by side and see which one grows more efficiently.

What is amazing is the logic behind the seeds being on the outside. Having seeds on the outside make it easier for strawberries to get planted elsewhere, and it is actually a survival trait. Birds eat them, fly to somewhere else, expel them, and the seed grows in the new place…and it just contributes the overall order of the universe. It would be ideal to plant enough things such as strawberries…then I would be able to claim that I am able to successfully eat my own lawn, but its not up to me…

An-Nahl (The Bee)

  • 16:11 (Asad) [and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think!
    Ar-Ra’d (The Thunder)

  • 13:4 (Asad) And there are on earth [many] tracts of land close by one another [and yet widely differing from one another Asad ]; and [there are on it] vinyards, and fields of grain, and date-palms growing in clusters from one root or standing alone, [all] watered with the same water: and yet, some of them have We favoured above others by way of the food [which they provide for man and beast]. Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for people who use their reason!
  • So its not up to me, but to Allah instead. I’ll just have to wait and see what grows and what goes. Its exciting to see things come back to life, since spring just started here in NY..not only that but its a seasonal reminder of resurrection. Without a doubt those who grow their own food can benefit from a constant reminder of resurrection…

And [if, O man, thou art still in doubt as to resurrection, consider this:] thou canst see the earth dry and lifeless – and [suddenly,] when We send down waters upon it, it stirs and swells and puts forth every kind of lovely plant” (Al-Hajj, 22:5)

    the scientific man

man is still the same today as we were thousands of years ago.

we still have the prejudices, anger, envy, emotions, thoughts, perceptions and outlooks we did back then.

Man’s mind and intellect has not developed much

(besides those who surrender their souls to King of Kings, The One God Only, and try to break away from this common intellectual pattern)

Regardless, eternity doesn’t exist because we’re MORTAL… so much hasn’t changed

Mankind still has the Cave Age Brain, only difference is we’ve got Space Age Weapons.

keep your mouth shut. I genuinely believe that the person who talks the least says the most. Dale Carnegie wrote a best selling book entitled ‘How to Win Friends and Influence People.’ One of the key premises of this book was that everyone’s favorite subject is actually themselves and that the sweetest sound to their ears is the sound of their own name.
